AEC Won%u2019t Require Weston Mixing by Bill Van Alstine

The Atomic Energy Commission will not demand that Weston , Ill, comply with Civil Rights Act of 1964 or establish fair housing as a prerequisite to building the $375 million atom smasher in the all-white town.

…Ever since the Weston site was selected, a battle has waged among Illinois lawmakers on whether or not state open housing legislation would be necessary to keep the multi-million dollar plant from being taken away because of bis government policies.
