Comments

When Comanche County, in which De Leon is
located, expelled its black population in 1886, De
Leon erected a sundown sign in the local train station.
Several years later, the railroad asked the town to
move the sign, as black porters were being
threatened. Accounts of to where it was moved differ;
some say the well and others say the city limit.
